Create a .txt file and save it as "your DVD name here".txt.

eg. You have Pro Tools Level 3. Create a file named ProToolsTutorialLevel3.txt

Place it in your Macintosh HD -> Users folder.

Leopard no longer lets some older DVDs write to this folder so you have to put it there manually. If you have a password on your account, it will ask you to enter it before you can copy the file.

Here is a list of file names to use ->

ProToolsTutorialLevel3.txt
MixingWithThePros.txt
SibeliusTutorialDVDLevel1.txt
SibeliusTutorialDVDLevel2.txt

Q: The Cubase 5 Tutorial DVD Level 1 keeps asking me to Register. How can I stop this?

A: We noticed a small bug in the registration mechanism on the Cubase 5 Tutorial DVD Level 1. It's really easy to work around though. This bug only effects the Cubase 5 Tutorial DVD Level 1 - no other DVDs are affected.

FIX: Make sure you fill out every field on the Registration page. Even if you don't have a company name put something in there - for example your first name or "N/A". Also fill out the phone number field at the bottom of the page. After you fill out every field you won't be asked to register again.

Alternatively you can download an update:
PC: CUB5L1-PC-V2.zip
Mac: CUB5L1-OSX-V2.zip

I just stuck all my stickies for Logic 8 onto my MAC keyboard and am generally happy. Some of the key strokes don't do what their supposed to, if anything... PLEASE HELP!!

If you've purchased the Logic 8 key command stickers and have noticed that some keys aren't doing anything here are a couple of reasons:

1. Some of the keys (primarily the FUNCTION keys ie. F10, F11, etc) are also used by the MAC OS. In order to be able to use them in Logic you have to disable them in the SYSTEM PREFERENCES on your MAC. Just click on the little APPLE ICON in the top left corner of the screen and select SYSTEM PREFERENCES. Now select KEYBOARD and MOUSE and then the KEYBOARD SHORTCUTS tab. Disable any key commands that interfere with Logic here.

2. Many of the shortcuts require modifiers like OPTION or COMMAND. For instance. Anything that's marked blue, requires you to hold down SHIFT, and any command that's marked GREEN requires you to hold down CTRL.

Q: My computer does not recognize the dvd. I tried to update quick time and still does not recognize it. I am using windows vista 64 bit.

A: The ASK Video DVDs are actually DVD-Roms. We have some older titles that were a 2 disk set - one disk a DVD (for your Home DVD player) and another that was a DVD-Rom (for your computer).

Make sure you place the right one in your computer (the DVD-Rom).

That being said there are other reason your computer may not see the DVD-Rom.
1. Your DVD-Rom drive may actually be a CD-Rom drive! Make sure you have a DVD-Rom drive on your computer or if you have multiple drives make sure you put the ASK Video DVD-Rom in the right drive.
2. We have notices that if you have a Rimage Duplicating system on your computer (or similar). That program may take control of the DVD-Rom drive. In this case disable the Duplication software or check with the manufacture so that the software releases the DVD-Rom drive.
3. You may have installed MacDrive by MediaFour. In this case the DVD-Rom drive could be set to ready Mac DVD-Roms only. Right click on the DVD-Rom drive and choose "Show Windows Files".
